I found all chapter essential to understand and interact with children .But most useful was chapter 1 Educational Psychology ,Characteristic of young learners, Instructional strategies ,Resource Management ,Classroom Management .They first tell us about children then how to deal with different teaching methods . Everything was informative. Lesson Planning, the print of the chapter was not clear, more samples should have been given, but I found it challenging and enjoyed it. I would like to thank Sangita Ma'am for her support and guidance, was always there to help me and was my savior. I will always be thankful to her for her support. She was able be send the assignment within 1 to 2 days ,which according to me were fast and all assignments were checked ,where she marked and gave me all points which were good and what I should have added and that I liked very much personally . According to me the typos and editorial and content mistakes in the accompanying textbook make the text disconcerting and obtuse. The prompt replies by Sangita (when I needed) and the clarifications were a very positive experience for me. I find the chapter on project is most useful because it taught me how to be comprehensive while planning a lesson. Actually, the part I found irrelevant was part of the assignments—the grammar and phonology assignments. It does not add any value to the candidate's learning because, with grammar, either you know the answer or you don't. The course was relevant. The best part about this course was its ease—in the way I could apply for it and pursue it in the medium I find comfortable. I would recommend this course to my friends.

I think basically the course is methodical and research oriented and also its special focus on teaching English gave me the basic foundation and confidence to be a Pre n primary teacher. The activity CD given to us is probably the least useful one and could be improvised adding more subject matter videos. I feel the quality of the pictures and the binding could be better. Material from various websites could be used a little more carefully. (pg. 176 We have a child-sized physical environment so the children can easily do many things for themselves …) The course material is divided into chapters but the assignments book has modules and units. If the modules are mentioned in the course book itself it would be helpful. The Assignment book is not very clear about Module 4. The module number is not mentioned for assignments 10, 11 and 12. I did not know what actually went on in Montessori classrooms but the course greatly increased my awareness about the method. The CD was particularly useful. The assignments on the various methods like Reggio Emilia Approach, Froebel etc were also interesting. The Grammar and Phonology assignments were least useful. There should have been some related material. Labeling a diagram in isolation specially made no sense. The trainers clarified all my doubts with lot of patience. The only thing I was dissatisfied with Assignment 3 Module 1 Unit 2 (a) "Write 3 similarities that the young learners share with adult learners regarding learning styles." Pg 22 says in one respect however adult learners are similar to young learners. The trainers gave give comprehensive feedback. The only teaching experience that I have has been class VI up so it was good to learn so many things about younger learners. I expected material of a much superior quality. It was very disappointing to see so many errors in a course laying emphasis on English.

But I do have a humble suggestion and that is to have a relook at the organization of the text books sent. As a student one finds the content wrongly pasted and (the topic of ALG is sandwiched between assignment in the assignment book and instead of the text book, some places content is missing, some pages have same content (pg 77-78), even in the feedback form question 5 and 6 are same etc. Perhaps being an editor by profession, I find these small things glaring, but otherwise the course content is great. To a certain extend the tutor was able to solve my doubts but I would have preferred an opportunity to direct talk to him or her as there are numerous things and questions about teaching languages or just teaching in general I would have liked to ask him or her. I suppose I would have liked to have gotten some counseling during my course.

I think the part of dealing with behavioral problems of the children was a very interesting part of the course. Also the whole aspect of the classroom management was something that I found really useful. I would say in the assignment – 11 the history of ELT and the methodology was what I found little inappropriate. The trainers were absolutely great and they gave me comprehensive feedback. My trainer (Sangita) in particular was really prompt with her replies to clarify my doubts and I think one of the reasons that I was able to complete this course was because of her help. Initially when I started doing this course I found it a little difficult but at the same time it seemed so interesting so I did not want to give up. I am unable to point out a specific aspect as most useful as I did not find any aspect of the useless. At this point I wish to tell that the assignments questions were set in such a way that it makes the person visualize the classroom while writing. I could not find any aspect of the course least useful. Each aspect was worthy in one or the other way for a beginner like me. The trainers ( Sangita Ma'am and Nina Ma'am ) assigned to me for the course were fully supportive throughout the course, clarifying the doubts on the day itself or the latest by the next day. My primary trainer Sangita Ma'am as well as my trainer for phonology Nina Ma'am was giving proper feedback throughout. The assignments was graded and commented timely. The comments associated with each evaluation were really motivating and encouraged the person in me to prsue further with whole heart. I am really happy that I was able to complete the course. The course material was really simplified and resourceful. My trainers gave me ample amount of study materials through the list of reference sites and books. At all the time I felt that the trainers wanted me to improve through their suggestions rather than pointing out on to the weak points and demotivating the person in me.

I learnt about the project based learning and really enjoyed preparing for it and I do feel that this in this generation the children will love learning through such project based studies. I felt everything appropriate except the "phonology label the diagram". I feel the trainers are very nice, well spoken and patient. Ms Sangita has been very encouraging and motivating. She has made me feel that I can be a good teacher. I have no problems regarding feedback and it has always been prompt. I do wish that I was in Kolkata or the institute was in Mumbai, because it has been a good experience except that I do feel that meeting the trainers personally would have benefitted me much more. But off course that is my problem and there is nothing anything that the institute can do about it.
